Kolovrat is a settlement in the Zagorje ob Savi municipality in central Slovenia. The area is part of the traditional region of Upper Carniola. It is now included with the rest of the municipality into the Zasavje statistical region.[2]
The parish church in the settlement is dedicated to Saint Lawrence and belongs to the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Ljubljana. It is a Gothic building that was restyled in the Baroque in the late 18th century.[3]
Kolovrat Castle is a castle built on a small hill to the southeast of the settlement. It is first mentioned in written documents dating to 1256. It was badly damaged in the 1895 earthquake. After 1945 a part of the castle was restored.[4]
